USATODAY.com: "Spirit Airlines ends service today to both Long Island's MacArthur Airport and to Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos. The carrier had flown to both destinations from its Fort Lauderdale hub. In a press release, Spirit says it 'will return to MacArthur when market conditions change. In Providenciales, excessive local costs have made air service not economically viable.'"
