Caribbean Airlines to buy Air Jamaica, keep routes

BusinessWeek : "Trinidad's Caribbean Airlines will take over operations of cash-strapped Air Jamaica and its seven routes, retaining 1,000 employees, according to aviation officials. Air Jamaica will keep its equipment and offices at the airport, and the Jamaican government will have a 16 percent share in Caribbean Airlines, said Denis Lalor, chairman of Air Jamaica's divestment committee."

Cayman Islands 'leading green movement in Caribbean'

Opodo travel news "The tourist board representing the Cayman Islands has claimed that the destination is leading the environmental movement in the Caribbean after two of its dive resorts received certification from the Green Globe organisation. Compass Point, which is located in Grand Cayman near some of the island's famous wrecks, was certified for its sustainability, along with Cobalt Coast in West Bay. The resorts join the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park horticultural attraction in gaining approval from Green Globe, which is one of the leading certification schemes for travel and tourism"

JetBlue Increases Summer Flights to St. Lucia

Travel Agent Central "St. Lucia bound? Good news for you. JetBlue Airways has recently added additional flights from New York's John F. Kennedy Airport to Saint Lucia's Hewanorra International Airport. Flights will now depart five times per week from May 1 through Labor Day. Just in time for the start of the 2010 Saint Lucia Jazz festival, held May 1 to 9."
